Grant Cushman is Emeritus Professor of Parks, Recreation and Tourism at Lincoln University, Canterbury, and is Honorary Professor in Sport and Leisure Studies at Waikato University, Hamilton, New Zealand. He is a former Co-Editor-in-Chief of the World Leisure Journal. He is a former President of the Australian and New Zealand Association for Leisure Studies (2005 to 2010), and a member of the Royal Society of New Zealand, the New Zealand Recreation Association, the Research Committee on Leisure of the International Sociological Association and is a Life Member of the World Leisure Organization. He was inducted into the School of Physical Education, University of Otago, Wall of Fame in 2008. Grant’s major teaching and research interests include leisure participation research; leisure, activity and well-being; leisure and sport policy and urban park policy and planning. He has published extensively in these areas of interest.
