17th World Leisure Congress 2023 – Leisure: Learn Well, Live Well
The 17th World Leisure Congress planning and organization is now fully on track! From the 11th to the 15th December 2023, the Congress will bring together leisure professionals from academia, government and industry to promote informative, stimulating and challenging discussion on the latest issues in leisure.
The 17th World Leisure Congress will also give everyone working and researching in the leisure field the opportunity to come together to reflect on what we have learned and begin to chart where we want leisure research and the position of leisure in people’s lives to go moving beyond the COVID-19 pandemic. The program activities and opportunities, addressed to different stakeholders, are immense and will offer a unique moment in which to begin to grasp them.
The Congress will be hosting a dedicated programs for leisure youth professionals and students. The PhD and Early Career Academic workshop, a bespoke one-day program committed to enhancing international and encouraging collaborative research, and to meet the development and training needs of early career researchers and research staff. And the Field School, aligned closely with the overall theme of the congress (to Learn Well, Live Well), and one of its social impact goals (to make leisure more inclusive), the fieldschool is a. learning opportunity designed to provide participants with a greater appreciation of, and willingness and ability to act for, the leisure needs and interests of underrepresented and marginalised communities.

World Leisure Day 2023 – Leisure For Social Transformation
The third edition of the World Leisure Day will be celebrated all around the globe on April 16th, 2023, to reinforce the role of leisure at the center of the society.
In these uncertain times, it is more necessary than ever to acknowledge the importance of leisure playing key role in individual and community developments, contributing to the quality of life and well-being, enhancing social relationships, and often becoming a space for expression and engagement.
More and more cities and regions are officially joining the World Leisure Day to create a unique day and build bridges between people and city activities.

World Leisure Expo and Forum and Innovation Prize
Based on the success of previous editions (2006, 2011, 2017, 2019 and 2021), the 6th World Expo and Forum will be held once again in the city of Hangzhou, China, in 2023. Dates will be announced soon!
Together, with the World Leisure Expo and Forum, the 10th edition of the World Leisure International Innovation Prize will be hosted. The WL Innovation Prize seeks to recognize organisations that have implemented creative solutions that foster local, national or international leisure opportunities for the benefit and development of individuals and communities. The call for applications will be launched early 2023. Stay tunned!
