The World Leisure Expo: Elevating Hangzhou’s Worldwide Prestige
Since its inception in 2006, the World Leisure Expo in Hangzhou has dramatically enhanced the reputation of Zhejiang Province and Hangzhou, positioning it as the “Oriental Leisure Capital.” The inaugural Expo drew an astounding 16 million visitors, setting the stage for subsequent Expos in 2011, 2017, 2019, and 2021, each attracting millions more from around the globe. These events have continually showcased and advanced the leisure industry, emphasizing themes of improving quality of life and embracing digital innovation, even amidst pandemic challenges.
Complementing the main Expo, an array of satellite events caters to diverse interests, including the World Leisure Forum, the World Leisure International Innovation Prize Award Ceremony, and numerous other programs. These initiatives collectively reinforce Hangzhou’s standing as a global leader in leisure and cultural exchange.
